Another Reaction to Costa
The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union has made another very interesting YouTube film responding to the recent, not particularly diplomatic remarks of Antonio Maria Costa, the executive director of the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (who claimed that of the attendees at last year's drug policy reform conference in New Orleans there were "1200 participants, 1000 lunatics, 200 good people to talk to. The other ones obviously on drugs").
They need to fix the spelling of the word "parallel" in the title, but that's a minor quibble. In my opinion, HCLU is hitting home run after home run with these videos, which really broaden the dialogue around these complex questions.
Thank you Alex! Indeed we noticed this mispelling in the title, sorry for that, but to fix it we have to create and upload a new video file, which means a new link to the video on youtube, and that would cause a lot of trouble, not mentioning restarts the view-counter. Anyway, I hope it's not very disturbing.
