California's AB 259 Advances From Senate Comittee

California's proposed bill to ban the sale of salvia divinorum to minors has passed through a Senate committee.  One news item on the vote, which misleadingly describes salvia as a "pot-like drug," is here.

Minors should certainly be both protected for and guarded by the law. However, politicians like to piggy back their own agenda onto bills that have unversally good purposes. Passing laws that further clouding the language on drug prosecutions and drugs laws is a shameful act and politicans in Sacramento should know better than to serve their own petty agendas. They're making the law more problematic and makign the lives of attorneys, police and citizens more complicated in the process.
