Yes, it is a good thing in another aspect too. When the nation's drug warriors crack down on Rx-drug abuse, they begin to offend their patron--the BigPharma companies. It was under the auspices of Big Pharma they cracked down on pot, but now those drug warrors stepped over the red line. And it would be a big turnover if those corporations begin to speak against War on Drugs for their own sake.

I get the point you're trying to make, but I don't agree with it.

It's mostly not substituting safer "pharmies" (a questionable assumption) for hazardous unknown purity powders bought on the street as cocaine or heroin. It's substituting pharmies of unknown effect or alcohol/tobacco for much safer, but illegal cannabis.

Cannabis, as you should know, is far and away the biggest illegal "drug of abuse", dwarfing heroin, cocaine and all the other white powders and pharmies.
